Rae burst onto the scene in 2008 with her first release signed to Defected Records, “Cant stop” with House Music legend, Sandy Rivera/Kings of Tomorrow was an instant hit, firmly establishing Rae’s talents in the studio and profile in the house world. Following this successful debut release, Rae signed to Defected and became their first female DJ and vocalist, a winning combination that saw her become in demand both as a recording artist and DJ – with a stunning live show combining super sharp DJ skills with powerful vocals and a stunning image.
Rae went on to deliver some of the hottest tunes of recent years, “Persuasion” was the follow-up collaboration with Sandy Rivera, a deep, melodic house track with emotive lyrics. The video for the song rocketed it’s way to No.1 on the MTV Dance channel, proving Rae’s credentials and skill of merging cool beats with a commercial edge. Rae’s next two releases were produced with dance music favourite, ATFC. “Give Me Luv” and “It’s Over” went on to deliver over 600k YouTube views between them, a huge achievement confirming Rae’s global status.
Rae re-united again with Sandy Rivera to release the seminal classic “Hide U.” This track became a firm favourite around the world and is constantly requested by audiences demanding to hear Rae perform it in her live shows. The track has over 1million YouTube views alone across the different remixes.
Rae has also produced tracks with the likes of Michael Gray (Full Intention), Danism, Studio Apartment and The Stafford Brothers, leading to her first solo single on Defected in May 2012 “Another Day.” The track was championed by Danny Howard at Radio 1 and Steve Smart at London’s Kiss FM before gaining huge support all around the World. It hit No.1 in the Traxsource chart and went on to become their No.1 for the top 100 tracks of the year.
December 2012 saw the release of Rae’s collaboration with Spanish House masters David Penn and Rober Gaez. “Survival” was released on Urbana with the Original Mix and Rae’s remix storming to the top of the House charts.
2013, back with Kings of tomorrow Rae released “Baby I want you” on Rivera’s label Blackwiz, then “Cant stop” with fellow UK producer Doorly, on Toolroom records, supported by Radio 1’s Annie Mac & Pete Tong.
This summer Rae has hit with a strong release schedule “Sirens” on Shadowchilds Food music is doing the rounds on the underground with support from the likes of Laurent Garnier & Deetron, “Not gonna love you” on Audio rehab has reached over 30,000 plays on soundcloud and “I lift my hands”on Urbana recordings is currently climbing the house charts.
Outside of the studio Rae continues to build her fan base around the globe with unique live performances. The first DJ and singer to perform at Ushuaia Ibiza for Defected, with a summer residency in its opening year and regular sets at the world renowned Pacha worldwide on tour, covering America, Brazil and Asia, and the recently established Pacha festival in Amsterdam, as well as gigs at Ministry of Sound, tours worldwide, gigs at WMC, ADE and at festivals like iTunes, Lakedance, Papaya and Sunburn. Now one of the most prominent female artists in the game, Rae is only set to grow in stature around the world as a modern voice in the global house conversation.
